I absolutely love antique shopping. If you're looking for something to do on a lazy Saturday, you can't go wrong with a nice antique shopping spree. Here are a couple of tips to keep in mind...
1. You really have to make a time commitment. I often spend hours fishing through old treasures at my local antique store. There are so many wonderful potential finds, but you probably won't discover many at first glance.
2. Don't go in search of a specific item. I have most definitely learned my lesson on this subject. I once took a trip to the antique store with an old poetry collection in mind, which I was unable to find (tragic, isn't it?) Fortunately, I still came out of the store with a smile on my face and a 1900s clutch in my hand!
3. Don't be slow to take something home. The shelves of antique stores are constantly changing, so you can never be quite sure if you'll be able to find the same item again. If you have your eyes on something unique and one of a kind, make a beeline for the cash register.
Best of luck on your next antique shopping adventure! Have a splendid week. xoxo Jess.
